Q-Clicq™ Overdenture Attachment | EM™ - Dental Implants

The Q-Clicq™ line is Edison Medical’s low-profile, uniquely narrow implant overdenture attachment solution designed for use with the Rhein83® OT Equator™ overdenture system.

The low profile and narrow body design make the Q-Clicq™ one of the most versatile overdenture attachments on the market with a superior esthetic finish. Available for internal hex connections and with three possible angle designs, these attachments are made of Ti-6AL-4V-ELI titanium alloy.

EM’s Q-Clicq™ portfolio has across-brand usability with the market’s leading implant systems, including Zimmer®, Implant Direct® Legacy™, Biohorizons®, Alpha Bio®, MIS®, Straumann®, Nuvo® and more.

Q-Clicq™ implant overdenture attachment formats

The Q-Clicq™ comes in seven different collar heights from 0.5 mm to 6.0 mm, and in a straight, 18°- or 30°-angled option. Attachment components for the Q-Clicq™ include abutment analogs, impression transfers, metal housings, retentive caps, protective discs, and insertion/extraction tools. The Q-Clicq™ portfolio offers overdenture attachments in either mini kit or professional kit format.

Mini kits come with a single Q-Clicq™ attachment in your collar height and angle of choice. In addition, a Q-Clicq™ metal housing, four retentive caps and a protective cap are included in the kit, to facilitate the entire placement of the overdenture attachment.

Edison Medical’s Q-Clicq™ professional kit was designed for practices that perform restorations at a higher volume. The professional kit is equipped with five collar height options of the straight Q-Clicq™ and four collar height options of the angled Q-Clicq™ attachment. The professional kit also comes with a variety of abutment analogs, pick-up impression transfers, retentive caps, metal housings, protective discs, a screwdriver and an insertion/extraction tool.

The Q-Clicq™ advantage over the classic ball attachment

The ball attachment was the first overdenture system to be released to the market. Its relatively low price and long-term presence in the implantology industry is what still keeps it in circulation in today’s industry. However, it is gradually decreasing in popularity due to its exceedingly high vertical profile and low potential for angle correction. These two aspects of the classic ball attachment have several deleterious effects on the entire overdenture system.

The added height of the classic ball attachment overdenture system is caused by the presence of the ball itself, which increases the overall height of the restoration. This higher vertical profile not only poses a significant esthetic disadvantage, but also gives rise to a higher and less secure seating of the entire restoration that compromises its long-term stability.

Taking these undesirable characteristics of the ball attachment into consideration, implant overdenture attachments featuring a lower vertical profile are being defined as the new standard. The snap-on overdenture system, such as the Q-Clicq™, is gaining rapid popularity due to its lower profile and versatility.

The lower seating of the Q-Clicq™ makes for an overall better seating of the entire overdenture system, resulting in higher stability and resilience of the final restoration. Moreover, the range of angled attachment options provides a wealth of possibilities for angulation correction. The narrow design of this attachment also enables it to fit into uncharacteristically narrow spaces, making overdenture restoration possible where it may otherwise not have been. These collective qualities of the Q-Clicq™ render it the ideal implant overdenture attachment for even the most challenging overdenture cases.
