Titanium CAD/CAM Ti-Base

Our Ti-Base interfaces are produced from premium quality titanium and serve as the connection between an implant and its final restoration. When planning your implant system, the base of the implant is an extremely important factor to consider.

Complications following prosthesis insertion can include such things as loss of osseointegration and/or screw loosening. Causes can be, but are not limited to, poor implant-abutment assembly, unfavorable stress distribution, fatigue characteristics of the screw, and occlusal overload.

Why Titanium?

Titanium is the most common material used in implant abutments due to its recognized inert and hygienic characteristics, as well as its biocompatibility. Our Ti-Base abutment provides the foundation of a high-strength implant, due to titanium’s remarkable mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, and ability to bond to bone. We have undergone a series of compression and fatigue tests to gain FDA approval and ensure optimum strength of our abutments.

Rotational vs. Anti-Rotational Surfaces

The rotational or anti-rotational surface options of our Ti-Bases will depend primarily on the need for retention in restoration of a single tooth. Our anti-rotational connections, primarily used in final restorations, allow for indexed, repeatable placement of the connection in the same position. The rotational (conical) interface, conversely, permits pre-planned multiple restorations and the ability to spin the connection into the desired implant abutment junction position. It also serves as a biological seal against bacteria, as well as any microleakage or micromotions that can potentially lead to crestal bone loss.

CAD/CAM is stress free for everyone, with a setup that only requires plugging in your scanner to a USB port. The 3D scanner takes several intraoral images, which are patched together by a computer, and voila – a digital impression is made in a matter of minutes. This digital file can then be sent off to the lab for fabrication. What is a Ti-Base abutment?

A Ti-Base abutment is a two-piece, prefabricated abutment made of titanium. The favorable properties of titanium including low specific weight, high strength to weight ratio, high modulus of elasticity, high corrosion resistance and excellent general biocompatibility make it an excellent material for dental implant superstructures and implants. Every Ti-Base is matched to a specific implant system, with various options for collar height, angulation and rotation based on intraoral scans taken using a CAD/CAM system.
